Chastain Park Conservancy hired BH&A in the fall of 2013 to combine two capital campaigns (Walk Chastain and Play Chastain) under the banner “10th Anniversary Capital Campaign.” BH&A rewrote the case statement, and worked with staff and volunteers to update the website and create a combined campaign donation page and brochure. BH&A also advised them on foundation approaches; organized Board, major gifts, and street campaigns; trained volunteers; and researched prospective donors.
About the Chastain Park Conservancy
Chastain Park is the largest city park in Atlanta, and welcomes over 1 million visitors a year. In 2003, a small group of dedicated community leaders created the Chastain Park Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to “restore, enhance, maintain, and preserve” the Park for today’s visitors and future generations.
The Conservancy brought together the park operating partners, eleven organizations located within and offering activities at the Park. With input from these partners, park neighbors, and constituents, the Conservancy created a park-wide, 20-year Master Plan. The plan was approved by the Atlanta City Council in 2008 and over the past few years several of the initiatives and improvements have been successfully completed, including an EarthCraft-certified tennis center, a three-acre hilltop field, and park-wide sustainability improvements.
